Setting time: There may be a tiny, disposable plastic spacer holding the stem in the "out" position, so you need to remove the spacer (if applicable) 
before you can turn the stem to set the time. Gently pull the top stem away from the base of the watch (See fig.001) 
and turn clockwise until reaching the exact time, then push it in to run. 
To open the front case, Just push the stem down gently and it will pop open.
